Fatherhood Program Orange County

Our vision

We aim to create a community of fathers who uplift one another and build a network of resources to empower men on their fatherhood journey.

Who we are

Fatherhood is the best Hood

In 2022 Jose and Efrain teamed up to combine their knowledge and experience to co create Fatherhood Connection, an organization dedicated to emphasizing the importance of supporting fathers on their fatherhood journeys. Individually, they have over a decade of experience working within their communities to support families of different backgrounds and capacities. To compliment the purpose that fuels them, Efrain and Jose are both Community Health Worker certified, and trained as Nurturing Fathers Program Facilitators. Recently, Fatherhood Connection has linked up with First 5 Orange County to develop and provide Developmental Play Groups for dads and families. In addition, Jose and Efrian run both in-person and online groups for new fathers in collaboration with MOM’s Orange County, Head Start and First 5 Orange County. With their combined passion for service, Jose and Efrain are reshaping the landscape of family support in Orange County, striving to ensure that every father has the tools and guidance they need to break cycles and foster healthy family dynamics.

“Just Show Up”

Efrain Reyes

Efrain Reyes is a Mexican American father, husband, and community leader dedicated to strengthening families and supporting fathers. He immigrated to Southern California as a child, where he now lives with his family. Efrain and his wife of 13 years are proud parents of two daughters.

With over a decade of experience working in behavioral health, Efrain has supported children, parents, and families across diverse communities. Through this work, he recognized the need for stronger support systems for fathers who often lack spaces to connect, grow, and support one another.

Efrain is the founder of Fatherhood Connection, where he creates spaces for fathers to build community, reflect on their roles, and break generational cycles. His work focuses on strengthening father-child relationships, promoting emotional wellness, and empowering men to lead with presence, accountability, and purpose.

He is a certified Life Coach and holds a Master’s Degree in Human and Family Development from Arizona State University. In his free time, Efrain enjoys spending time in nature, building community, and creating meaningful spaces for fathers to connect

jose Salce

Jose Salce was born in Jalisco, Mexico and was raised in Orange County by his mother and father. He grew up with four sisters and a younger brother. From a young age, Jose witnessed the struggle and challenges that immigrant families face when arriving to the United States. This fueled his determination to get an education and better his life. In 2015, he graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a Bachelors degree in Human Services. Throughout his studies, Jose found his passion for closed group containers after experiencing the healing potential that emerges from having a safe space to share vulnerability and truth. Currently Jose continues to participate in groups to support his own health and wellbeing and co-leads closed group containers that focus on offering men support and guidance.

Over the course of 10 years Jose has garnered experience in working with families, children, and teens with different capacities, including within the spectrum of neurodivergence. His years of experience in various settings have served as building blocks to grow his capacity to support the community where it's needed.

Jose enjoys playing chess and spending time exploring nature with his daughter. He strives to be of service within his community and is on a mission to offer support by helping men reconnect with themselves and become the best versions of fathers and husbands for their families to continue breaking generational cycles.
